A SCARCE 16-BORE ALBERT RICHTER 1884 PATENT LEVER-COCKING TRIGGERPLATE ACTION NON-EJECTOR, serial no. B.123027,
circa 1890, 29in. sleeved nitro barrels, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke in both, Richter patent underlever activated sliding block lock mechanism, DRP 29404 of 22nd April, 1884 with Roux underlever, fully detachable triggerplate action with quick release internal block and hand-detachable stock (insert repair to lower left edge), manual wingnut safety, pin cocking-indicators, the top of the standing breech inlaid in gold 'SYSTEM RICHTER COTTBUS' and engraved with a roe doe head, the rear of the top tang with serial numbered detachable locking wedge, set front trigger, bold acanthus scroll engraving with game scene vignettes of pheasant and stag, bright and blued finish overall, the underside with spring held detachable triggerplate release catch, the triggerguard tang with spring held swing triggerplate release lever, permanently attached fore-end with side opening release catch, 13 3/4in. figured stock with cheekpiece and sculpted side bolsters at head, including 7/8in. buttplate, weight 6lb. 14oz.
